The EthiopiansEveryone is different. But a common characteristic of Ethiopians is friendliness. According to Culture Grams, people within Ethiopian society tend to stay away from aggressive and loud people; they also tend to demonstrate concern for others and are considerate (CultureGrams). If one is disrespectful and rude to an elder, they may be excluded or people just will not be interested in them (CultureGrams). With the current conflict involving different ethnic groups throughout Ethiopia, things have become intense but people there are, for the most part, very peaceful and wanting remain peaceful (CultureGrams). People in Ethiopia are very culture oriented and are trying to keep their culture alive during globalization; if you show your love for your country you are treated with respect (CultureGrams).

What Makes Ethiopia Beautiful?Ethiopia is a very mountainous region of Africa (Culture Grams). It is known for its mountain ranges and unique variety of wildlife. I believe that the untouched naturalness of the country is what makes it beautiful. The nature with in the country leaves the it to be untouched by society and makes it more beautiful than nations taken over by business and buildings. The mile long and endless mountains make this country even more beautiful. The mountains have been there and began to develop 75 million years ago ("Oh Fact"). There are national parks throughout the nation that protect endangered wildlife and preserve the beautiful mountains, such as Simien Mountains National Park ("Oh Fact").
The wildlife is very unique and amazing in the sense that many species living there cannot be found anywhere else in the world, like the Ethiopian Wolf ("Oh Fact"). The beauty of Ethiopia is quite evident in the way that the nature is undeniably breathtaking and is a preserved by the country. It is well captured in the photographs that this country is beautiful because of many tourists and photographers who go to hike the Simien Mountains and find the rarest breeds of wild life on Earth. Challenges in EthiopiaRecently, there has been a lot of outbreaks of violence between ethnic groups. Near the border of Kenya, the Oromo and the Somalis erupted into a fight ("Ethnic violence in southern Ethiopia kills 21, wounds 61 - state news"). The arguments and disputes have been occurring for a long period of time and are continuing because both the Oromo and the Somalis are the two largest regions of land in Ethiopia. This knowledge has caused much of their conflict to be based on competition for land and supplies ("What is behind clashes in Ethiopia's Oromia and Somali regions?"). According to “Ethnic Violence in Southern Ethiopia Kills 21, Wounds 61 - State News”, conflict has began to increase since the Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, has taken over; this could be possibly due to the fact that he is Oromo. His ethnicity could be causing strain on those that are not Oromo and are living in Ethiopia, such as the Somalis. These outbreaks seem to happen somewhat frequently, for example, around November 2018 the violence started again because the Oromo Militia secretly attacked Somalis. ("Oromo militia behind attacks on Somalis in Ethiopia's Moyale"). There are currently no efforts that have worked as there is still much fighting going on, The government is not doing much to help and the people as the government is letting it happen ("Ethiopia: Thousands protest after deadly ethnic violence"). In efforts of protesting, they also criticized Ahmed for not helping the people enough and for not doing enough to keep people from dying in these violent outbreaks ("Ethiopia: Thousands protest after deadly ethnic violence"). With all that being said, there is a lot happening in Ethiopia right now from all the violence to the newly elected female president. Hopefully with time and a stricter government, the issues will resolve and Ethiopia will be a peaceful place for all of its natives to live in harmony.
